Still working at it. I seem to have forgotten I leave for a week today and might not have internet. Placement! I have so much to tell, but some of it must temporarily remain secret.
So it's ten to 7, I'm dressed, and I'm ready to leave for the gym as soon as I've had breakfast (it opens at 7:30). Then I have class at 9 - 11, then I'll come home and do some laundry I think. My life is just crazy, I tell you :P.
Seriously though, it's way too early. And my room is really cold. Oh well.,
I can't remember what it was that I was going to blog about, so here is some point-form info that will give the Vimster something to comment on:
- Jeans are hard to shop for, especially when the new thing is these skinny jeans. The only thing one can find at a reasonable price are skinny jeans. The best pair I found are "slouch fit". Which means kind of tight, but with a flare at the bottom. Well that's what it means at that store. The other place I tried on "slouch fit" it meant "two of me fit into one leg". So... yeah.
- Jeans are essential, esp. when you came over with 3 pairs, the zipper broke in one, one was bought when you had just gained 20 pounds during exams (which has since gone again) and so are super comfy but not exactly nice-looking enough to go out in, and are really long, and the last pair, the perfect pair, you just spilled curry all down the front of. And curry stains big time. The solving of this curry thing might take a while.
- Curry and chips are delicious, but dangerous. Especially when the overflowing takeaway container is just wrapped in brown paper for carrying.
- Homework is discouraging. Funny that it's been reminding me more of TFS than Queen's. Queen's won't assign you 50+ pages of reading for the next day. TFS (history? Dr. S? would, and so do they here.
- I should prepare the stuff for my 9am lecture, maybe.
- Gym clothes, on sale, are a good deal. Finding big tee shirts to wear to the gym is hard. They like jerseys here.
- My big tee shirt is awesome and completely enormous. It was about 20 dollars, but worth it because it will make me smile at the gym.
- I am going to the gym today. Putting gym membership to use between classes.
- I can see a castle from my window. If I kind of... lean a little.
- Tea is great.
- Tuna sandwiches are great.
- I have made up enough tuna salad for the whole week, then every morning I get out some bread and put some tuna on, cut it in half, put it in a container, and go to school.
- School is down a big hill. This is lovely in the morning, tricky in the afternoon. Especially if it's suddenly warmed up and you're wearing 3 or 4 layers of long sleeves.
- My camera is coming to school with me on friday. We'll show you my neighbourhood.
Okay. More readings then class. English tutorial for 2 hours this morning, then for 2 more hours this afternoon. Tomorrow is our possible day off, but we have two lectures instead, so no go. Friday I start my elective. I got education in the outdoors! It's half classroom, half practical. I'm actually really excited. It means I have to study the English Higher book all by myself to try and make sure I've got all the grammar down, but I think it's worth it.
So. After a fraught evening which included a girl getting hit by a car outside my window, I watched some fireworks. They were to be viewed from princes st. gardens, so you could hear the music they went to, but I had homework so I just watched from my window while they exploded over the castle.
And took some pictures so I could brag about my view.
So, it doesn't come across all that easily in photo form, so I'll help you with a little diagram!
The plastic mat is a blue grassy bathmat I bought so I can go in and not SOAK my feet if I've had a shower recently. Everything else is... what it is.
It's such a funny little bathroom. I think I love it. I have a cosmetics hangy thing on a suction hook on the wall right next to my sink (door side, not toilet side) and it's wedged in such a way that if the suction releases the towels and the edge of the sink make so that it doesn't fall to the floor. Whee!,
