INTERNET! HOT WATER! Everything's coming up Cat. Now I just have to walk to Bristo square and register with the Doctor. And hope to got I've still got hot water in the morning, because sicky me likes showers. I just went dancing with my neighbour. She is Chinese, and moves out Saturday, but is staying in Edinburgh. It was fun. New friends! Hurrah!,
I am sick. Still no hot water. Currently at the parents' hotel (they leave in the morning) because I needed a shower to help with the migraine. Might have internet when I get back to my room, we will see. So... updates if that is the case! night.,

Here's the deal, people. I've had really super limited internet for this trip (i.e. none, except in a couple of cafés when we had decided internet was absolutely essential for checking things like university email) so I've not been posting. The other hurdle to vault over was the little wee problem of arriving in rez and not having any internet there. Apparently we will get reznet on monday, which I doubt, as we're moving in early (most programmes start late september) and monday is a bank holiday. The other trick to moving in was that they didn't have my key at the porter's desk (which wasn't open, but not the point) and allocations, when called, said that I was not due to move in until the 28th. Which was strange, when one considered I had a form in front of me which said I was due to move in the 23rd (the other Canadians arrived the 24th) and when I checked online it said I was valid from the 22nd. But that was sorted. So yeah, the biggest hitch is still the internet thing. And the fact that we've no phones yet, really. Apparently there's a ten digit code we need to dial before making an outgoing call, right now. I'm not sure if that will last but we'll see. So trip has been good, outside of this moving thing today. I'll post some pictures of our adventures soon. Yesterday we went "river bugging", which is when you sit in your own personal raft - looking something like an arm chair - and direct it with webbed neoprene gloves and little flippers through rapids. I think we were in class twos. It would have been loads of fun to do more, but we were only out for a few hours. In the afternoon, my mum joined my dad, my brother and I and we went out on some quad bikes (ATVs) up in the hills. There were two other people there, from Leeds, who had been bugging with us as well. It was quite fun, actually, although my mum didn't find it to be her favourite. The day before was Canyoning (in FREAKING COLD water, in and around a waterfall) and other than that we've been doing a bunch of touristing. Anyway, for now I'll all tell you about my rez is that the bathroom and shower are one. Sketchy in a fab way. That is... the bathroom/shower floor is one entity, and if you want to shave your legs you use the toilet as a stool. Because the shower pretty much cleans the toilet for you anyway. Or so I've heard. There's a curtain around the corner to try and lead the water down the drain, but it limits the space so much that apparently noone really bothers with it. Pictures of the bathroom will follow as well.
Well, I imagine this is all until I get internet in rez, and who knows how long that will be, as all the instructions are for PC.
I'm off today and tomorrow, and so far it is wonderful. I am being productive, doing things that need to be done before I go, and hopefully I will be able to finish packing tomorrow. Which is now really starting to worry me, actually, because of the thwarted air attacks on the US, which mean that I may not be allowed a carryon on my flight. Which is going to be a major problem, as I was hoping to circumvent the weight limitations on my luggage by carrying my computer stuff in my carryon/knapsack. Oh well. Reorrrrganize.
Photoshop is hating on me. It won't load. So I've installed Corel Painter, and I'll have to try again later.

So. The fam had a bbq, disguised as some kind of thing for me, but really some kind of reunion of all the people who went to dominican (my family minus me, the cherrys minus alex, jess's family) plus the majs, the grandparents and my aunt susan. And robert invited some other people. So me and alex hung out, and went in the pool, and the boys and alex (and emily, who is not a boy and so is mentionned separately) had wine and I didn't.
Um... party on, dude.
