So far, it's been a very nice, summer-vacationy day. That is, I haven't done any work, but I've gotten some sleep, and watched some television.
I will be watching more television today as well, as game seven of the quarter-finals between the New York Islanders and the Leafs are on tonight, and we all know how much good spirit has been shown in the last six games.
Oh well, I hope the Leafs win.
Not because of any excess of hometown pride, or anything like that, but simply because I figure the Leafs are more likely to lose to the Senators.
And, if the Senators can get their act together and not get really awful as they normally do when it comes down to the end of the season, we may be in contention for the Cup!
So that's my hope, well, either that, or that the Leafs win, and kick ass all the way to the Stanley Cup. Muah ha ha ha ha!
Go Leafs Go!
Now, on another, much more frightening note, there's a really bad picture of Beth and I posted on the net that has been drawn to my attention by the oh-so-lovely Claire. It's from the show on friday. And although Beth and I may look like we weren't having a good time, let me assure you that we were.
If Taylor ever reads this: "That's what you get for leaving! Loser!"
Now, please don't go see this picture.
Damn camera-happy fans.
Oh, and that's Beth on the far right, and me on her left. Claire would be on the further right, but she's been cut out.
Stupid Claire. I'm the one who hates pictures!
It has been an extraordinarily long day.
I got to school this morning, and took note of the pranks that had appeared since I left last night.
I was a bit put off.
Anyway, the cops were around for quite a while, but the school basically told them "go away, we can conduct our own investigation, we know these hooligans better than you do".
But the cops took some stuff away for fingerprinting, so it's going to be, er, fun.
After all the fun and excitement in discussing my involvement and so on, I got to sit around, slowly coming to the realization that Dr. S was not going to arrive for the history revision session that was the sole purpose behind my being at school.
So we went to Marche for lunch, and then I came home and sat around for a long while, and went to help with Softball. When I got there, Mrs. Fitz told me the girls' team wasn't having practice, and that she wanted me to keep score for her.
So I did, and then the girls (the three that were there) arrived, but I couldn't leave my score keeping.
Oh well.
After getting home, I did alot of nothing. Some reading, some sitting, some being an idiot.
Not super-interesting.
Also, I've come to the realization that I'm really happy I did my own blog template. I tripped over blogskins today, and although most of the top skins were invariably prettier than mine, I still like mine better. I s'pose it does need alot of work though.
Any suggestions? Constructive criticism? Destructive criticism?
You know the drill.
'Til next time!,
So, I'm sitting at home, eating cake, and being generally excited.
"Why?" you ask?
Because I'm cool, and you're not, and in the end I will rule the universe!
*cough cough*.
Er, rather not.
The real reason is grad prank. The fun just never stopped. Except when it did, because certain males were being PRICKS, and I wanted to boot them in the butt.
Anyway, not that I have any first hand knowledge of this at all, but I've heard there are some awful purple and green doors, a nice pyramid and some inventive use of feng sui.
We rock.
There's also a penis attached to a door somewhere, with some sort of reference to phallic imagery, but that's just not as cool.
Oh, and if anyone's wondering about those papers scattered all over the ground, Staline is god.
And avoid driving in to school tomorrow if possible. For your own good. Really. That car is blocking the drive for a reason.
Well, It's been fun, and HIGH SCHOOL IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
La La La.,
happy.
Of course, at the moment, it's still the concert-high talking, more or less, but seriously, that was GOOD.
The music was great. I was so pleased.
And to top it off, what I wasjoking about in the car happened. Taylor was at the concert, and it was a lot of fun. I met some friends of hers (one an ex-boyfriend that she went out with for three days, another his girlfriend ever since) and some others that tried to get her to dance during Silverstein's set, but I think she was enjoying being right up front.
Anyway, I'm now going to download some music from the first band that played...
Oh, and just so you know, small rooms attached to arenas are sketchy places, with not-great accoustics. But MAN they're fun...
And as a comfort to the huddled masses, that may or may not feel left out... That concert would not have been especially enjoyable if it wasn't your kind of music. Getting shoved about by idiots is only fun if you can't stop shaking you head to the beat and mouthing the words...,
Well, just to do my small part in keeping the world entertained, here's the lowdown on Britney:
' "Well, I remember she was as big as a cat," he says. "One day she was this sweet little kid in a baseball cap, and it seemed like the next day she was singing … "hit me one more time" … It felt wrong." '
It felt wrong, eh? Ryan Gosling has smarts (although I'm sure he's been partially mis-quoted). Mickey Mouse Club did him good... Remember him? Sean, from Breaker High! Anyways, check out the article. It's all about supporting the Canadian talent off sketchy t.v. shows.
Today has been... Eventful, to say the least.
Well, eventful in the "I'm an IB student with no life who is completely focused on procrastinating, and not doing my work" kind of way. I was reminded this morning, when I got to school at 7:30, that I hadn't finished my Playboy of the Western World journals and my essay outlines. Then I was reminded that I had a math monthly fifth period. So I went home at lunch, finished the english, and skipped history to study for math. I forgot the english at home and failed the math test. Good fun. And another exciting quote, that may have made sense in context but that me and Anna stubled across when flipping channels:
"Tomorrow, it'll just be a small, happy, elephant."
It was what the surgeon said to the woman in the hospital bed (new implants) on a personal story.
Maybe we heard wrong, but I hope not.
[update: When Majid read the line about the elephant where I'd written it, out of context, on my ICQ "occupied" message, his reaction was -- and I quote -- "we're getting an elephant ??????????????????". Grad prank is coming up... That boy seems to think we have some major plans. He's gonna be dissapointed... *revised at 11:55 pm, 4/24/2002],
I do realize this is the third entry of the day, but too bad, because I almost forgot something...
Overheard Scene: A group of loud 15-year-old girls are gathered around the corner of a row of lockers, talking. One comment, out of context, is heard over the steady hum of conversation elsewhere in the halls.
Girl: I hate eating on the subway so much! It's like... everybody's watching you.
Other girls: *general sounds of aquiescence*
Anyway, I found that funny, especially as they were all skinny little things... When eating in public is embarassing, things are getting sad.,
Guess what I'm doing.
C'mon! Guess!
Fine, losers... I'll tell ya.
NOTHING. You know why?
Because I'm a moron. I had English journals and outlines due on monday, and it's now tuesday night. I'm super-skilled. I haven't even started typing them yet. BAH!
Right, so the other day I signed out of Blogger, and saw something in the updated blogs that caught my eye.
The letters I and B. Ugh, enough to cause fear, terror, and maybe even a bit of insanity.
But, I figured, "what the hell", and double-clicked.
All I have to say is... I wish we'd thought of it.
But we all have our individual blogs, and I suppose that's fun too.
Well, it seems I'm being dragged to some pilates class with Liz. And we all know how unproductive exercise is...,
Oof. What a day.
First of all, there was the fact that I didn't do my English. Or study for history.
Because I'm a genius, dont'cha know.
So I got to the history test, looked at it, and left. I couldn't write the essay. The only topic I knew anything about was from last term, and I couldn't remember enough from the seminars...
Great fun.
Also, in the spirit of walking out of class, Mr. Wickers told me to shut up (not in so many words) and I left. I'm so mature I can't even belive it myself. It was for the best. What with three years of me, Mr. Wickers seems to be getting a bit harrumphed (Or distressed, or annoyed, whatever the case may be).
Anyway, after that, DoughtyJesus (one word. He played Jesus in Godspell) told me to "forgive", so I did, more or less.
And now for today's political commentary... Le Pen got 16.1% of the votes in france today, and according to the people I've talked to (my dad and french kid staying at our house) he's kind of an idiot.
Well, I looked up the story, seeing as how I saw it on CBC news (french style!) earlier.
I saw that picture, and I laughed...
And laughed, and laughed...
Ahh, our country isn't the only one with weirdos trying to be in charge *cough*StockwellDay*cough*.
To be Canadian...
So, typical weekend in Catherineland, more or less.
I wasn't doing anything last night, because Claire and I couldn't think of anything, so I just sat around and waxed philosophical. Seriously.
Anyway, so Haddon (odd family friend, who may be reading this... so I'll stop) came over, and we watched a movie. Enemy at the Gates. Neither of us chose it. My wonderful sister Liz had two friends over, and they chose it, damn them.
But, all in all, it was entertaining. What is there that's more fun than watching someone eat an entire tub of sherbert. A small tub, to be sure, but STILL!
Today was fun-filled as well.
Jane came over to use the piano, and then we went to Winners for no reason at all. We then proceeded to watch two movies, Ghost World (Which is the most rocking) and dissapearance, a made-for-tv deal that was good, and could have been better. It was entertaining though...
And that's it. Not the most eventful, but nice, relaxed, and full of procrastination. Which reminds me. I have to write the equivelant of an essay in english journals for tomorrow.
Ahhhh!,
Well, because of the extreme dissapointment I've suffered, in finding that Hino Trucks have changed their logo, I took another online quizzie. Astounding, isn't it.
Today's entry is going to be a grab bag of fun and excitement. Heh heh heh, I just wanted to say that. And moving on...
Overheard Scene: Softball game at an upper class boys school, junior boys teams. Conversation between two players on the home team. The visiting team has just walked over to the field, and is getting out their equipment.
Boy 1: *quietly laughing*
Boy 2: What?
Boy 1: They're wearing shorts to play baseball?!?
Boy 2: Oh, yeah!
Now, I really have no idea whether this was to do with the cold, or with the some sort of we-have-nice-uniforms-with-funny-tight-baseball-pants snobbery, but I thought it was funny anyway.
Spotted... - 1 Hino Truck [ with the OLD logo ]* ... yeah!
Well, that's all of that for today, just wanted to say that the U12 boys' games went reasonably well, considering they really haven't had much practice, but that they lost against both the A and B teams... I don't know how the U14 went, they were still playing when I left.
Excitement... Anyway, I'm just going to get back to my book, and my anti-social attitude. If you're visiting, or passing through, leave a comment! It's fun! I swear!
* - square brackets added after my sad logo-change discovery. ,
I just had my art interview. It was not so exciting.
First of all, compared to Big Mac's interview, that was like a class, mine was recess. Not kidding. Twenty minutes long, and interviewer man told me to go to UBC, and to have fun in lotus land. No kidding. Really.
Anyway, It was interesting. I think my grade'll be sticking at a five. But a five can be good! La la la! Five Five Five!
So I'm going to go. Because I'm not sitting in the same proper posture as person on the wall with a target. And because Dr. Poetry has just walked behind me and noticed that I'm writing in my blog. Oh well. I like being difficult, and having it taken note of that I don't work...,
Tonight was interesting... the art show that is. Let me just say it was warm enough in there for the double-sided carpet tape I used to start peeling. I swear, by the end of the evening, it was about forty degrees in that room.... Ugh. Anyway, I was entertained, Claire and Beth decided to watch Laur's Miss World tape on loop, because they find it funny to watch me with my eyes all gummy and mostly glued shut with fake-eyelash-glue.
Well... it IS funny.
So that was okay, and the piroulines (hazelnut-chocolate filled spirally cylinder-type cookies) were really good. I think it's great that my school always seems to have those at functions.
But better was Gilmore Girls, and the subconscious knowledge that I have triple spare tomorrow morning. Ahhh.... triple spare... Ambrosia to the mind. I must prepare to not sleep through my alarm so as not to waste the morning.
Off I go!,
So I'm back, in english class. In the midst of taking a slew of super-interesting notes on the vocabulary to use on my IB exam when talking of theatre, and its applications. Yes, hurrah, I'm excited. So other than art, I really haven't done any work in days. Stupid biology, I hope she doesn't expect it to be done. Oh well, I think I've got 6 percent off so far. It's all good... Maybe I'll try to write them up in History class, rather than reading a book. Book of the day is sort of disturbing, anyway. Hmmm...
Oh well, I'm going to listen (heh heh heh) to what's being talked about. Yeah! Talking!
Too bad, I really don't care. It's sad almost... sad....
7 days left! (6 minus next friday, which doesn't count because it's for grad prank, skipping, messing around and grad review...)
Heh heh, I lied. The posts are really proliferating today! Anyways, for this last one, (not making any promises) I just want to post something that I haven't done in a while. First one to figue it out gets a big hug (real or imaginary) from me. Starting.... here!
I can be the same:
Shambles.
Hear treble, settle,
maybe.
Chaste slut,
Same in the sun.
Blue tastes as tan,
rescue is run.
A cat is there hit,
silent.
He ran at the tree,
Nearly.
Carnal lamb,
Made them dumb.
Nasty curse sent
Hit them, then numb.
The end... Brilliant, no? Well, actually, no, but it has an ulterior motive (very veiled) and that's what I want you to try and figure out. Muah ha ha ha. I am an evil duck. You see what not having Claire around leads to?
,
You're the lego Space Man! Strap on your helmet! You're the lego space man! You love technology, and look forward to the future. You're brave, active, and strangely attracted to shiny objects.
This weekend has been entertaining. First of all, there was the reason for which my last blog was so brief, which will simply be alluded to in the following manner: I was being a bitch.
Heh heh heh, quite the allusion, eh?
Anyway, friday night I sat around, went to the mall with my mum and got some books, which meant that I had stuff to read and didn't have to move all weekend if I didn't want to.
But I did.
So I went to see Panic Room yesterday night, with Claire, my friend Andrew and Nick (that friend of Andrew's who came to Death to Smoochy. I was very confused... We were actually also meant to meet up with some guy named Chris, and someone else. Chris had a striped shirt, but that's all I know. They ended up sitting at the other end of the theatre. So Panic Room was halfway decent, sort of confusing, not so conclusive... Entertaining though.
Also entertaining was the fact that Nick somehow lost his car. Or was just testing us to see who would get pissed off when he "pretended" to lose it. Yeah, right. He lost his car. We laughed.
Today I read my books, cleaned-up a bit, talked to Claire before she left for Hartford, passed up on a quality dinner at Jack Astor's with the Cherrys, the family and the french exchange folk, and sat down to watch the Junos. And to think that I'm sacrificing Juno watching time to write this! Must go!
BNL is very entertaining... Nelly Furtado kinda sucked, in an entertaining way. Meh, life goes on.,
Today was a long day... And I'm hoping tomorrow isn't much of the same.
Now, it wasn't long for any good reason... Just long. For that matter, I'm thinking of going to bed. Now. How crazy is that!
Right, well I'm going to go then... talking to Cherry on the phone. She's interesting.
Well, I think I'll go listen to a song. YEAH!,
Yuck. I'm really tired.
It's completely my fault though, and I'm not saying I regret it at all. But as a recommendation, if you're going to go out on a weeknight and still be up by seven... try to get to bed before one. Please. For me.
Last night was fun.
It was Jane's birthday, and Lauren and I took her for ice cream at Baskin Robbins, then Jane and I walked back to the school. We made quite good time, actually. It took us about a half-hour.
Anyway, we waited around school until six, playing B.A.M. and other such rubbish, because Joe was in French class. Consider that for a moment. The english speaking staff at my school taking french lessons. Amusing, isn't it. So after french class, we walked home (Jane and Joe to Jane's, me to my house) and I watched some television with my brother, because I can't think of anything that's more fun then that.
Then Jane and Joe came to my house and we watched The Three Amigos. Cherry came in mid way. And then we sat around being lazy for a while.
So it was nice, and lazy. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANE!
Right. Must go back to art class and sleep.,
I've got that feeling, the knot in my stomach, that something's wrong. So I can't sleep. I read a book, and it made me feel better for a while, but now that I've finished it the feeling's back. Oh well, if there's something wrong in reality I'm sure I'll find out about it soon enough, and if it were something really awful I'd be feeling alot shittier than this.
It happens. Plus, it could just be my brain stressing at me because I haven't yet figured out where I'm going to go to university.
Please, if you have an opinion, give me your vote. Queen's or UBC. I really don't know.
Anyway, I don't want to start my next book yet (I bought four yesterday, there's one left) because it's a little bit creepy. I'm not one to want to read about witch trials when I'm feeling... displaced. Good enough word, I guess. So I'll go to bed, and try to sleep. And I should probably reset my alarm, too. Wouldn't want a repeat of this morning, what with the being woken up by mexican construction guys who came to fix the leak in my ceiling.
Okay, writing in here may be counter-productive, when there are so many other things I could be doing at this odd hour, but too bad. I feel better now.
Maybe I just chewed too much gum...
Well, I s'pose I could keep reading Galileo's Daughter...
Hmmm... sounds like a plan!,
And now for the anti-pants revolution.
Matt (the other founding member of the odd ducks) has decided he is anti-pants. In the summer, when we have a chance, he proposes we start a revolution. No pants. You could wear shorts, or skirts (heh heh heh, Matt in a flowery skirt) or just no pants at all. But jeans are okay, until they do something wrong. Then they join enemy ranks.
I'm qualifying the revolution, because If I'm too be a part of it (as Matt says odd ducks must be), I'm wearing my jeans. So "pants", in my case, is "dress pants". Those damn pants. Always trying to get me down...
I really wanted to blog, but had nothing to say, so I've decided to do one of those really long quizzes. Y'know the ones you get in your e-mail?

Tonight was fun, even though this morning and this afternoon were really boring...
I went up to Claire's, because we had plans, but those were abandonned. Instead of our "glow in the dark mini golf and a movie" plans, we decided to rent a movie, and sit about. I wanted to be home early-ish, becuase I'm really tired.
So we rented The Smokers which I would not recommend. It was bad enough to let you appreciate good movies though... so there's a plus.
We also watched a new Trading Spaces at nine, at which point we hadn't yet finished the movie, but really needed a break.
Well, got to admit, life is not so interesting... sorry.,
Today has been a long day... Let me outline why:
- I got up on time, even though I had no classes 'til 12:40.
- Got home half past four-ish.
- Left at 5, wanted to make some minor purchases before haircut.
- Got hair cut (trimmed), waited for mother's to be finished.
- Went to school for 8:30 ish to work.
- Got home at ten after eleven, attempted to fix something of Claire.
- Sat around.
- Couldn't sleep, decided to do homework. Failed.,
For some reason, I came to school this morning, and did not a hell of a lot. I got to sit around in my jeans and t-shirt, while everyone else wandered in and out in their uniforms. It felt good. Especially seeing as how tomorrow is a grub day.
Anyway, Mr. Wickers wrote a poem this morning, for us to edit. I think that's mean. I can find stuff I would change, but I refuse to edit. I'm a sucky editor.
Right-o, well that's it, except that my computer hates me, and I therefore have a new ICQ account. If you need the number, e-mail me, or leave a comment, and I'll give it to you. I'm not willing to post it.
I'd been planning to sort through my list and see who I didn't talk to anyway...
Well. Rah rah rah, sis boom bah.
Claire is glaring. Stop it Claire. I'm not a cheerleader, I'm just making a sarcastic mockery! (not because I have anything against cheerleaders, it's just me being silly).,
I'm going to tell a story. Okay? Okay.
It's sort of a sketchy story, but hey, what do you expect from someone so blatantly sketchy!
soundtrack to my story: "poor little bug on the wall"... because it's funny
Right. So once, there was a fly.
It met up with two friendy flies and an alter-friendy fly (yes, I am making up words).
One friendy fly was interested in alter-friendy fly.
It was said that alter-friendy fly liked fly by other friendy fly, who may have lied.
So one fly eyed, another fly lied, and they all died (killed by a shy guy, with a swatter of fly and a good eye.)
Yes. That was a load of bull. Uninteresting bull at that. But I was amused.
Right. Well that's about it. Oh, and I spent maybe 4 hours in the dark room today, and wrote a devoir sur table on Algeria (without having studied, or listened all term...) that was worth 10% of my grade for the course. La la la.
I'm a bright one.,
Hey hey!
I haven't blogged in a while. I guess it's sort of sad... but I really didn't have much to say...
I got into Queen's and Western, but no letters yet. So I'm just sitting, waiting.
And that's it. I don't want to bore you, so I'll fly away....
